作品のアイディアは、ネット上の雑談において対ゴブリン剣術があるならゴブリンだけを退治する冒険者がいるのでは？という疑問から生まれたという。ただ、骨子としてはアメリカンコミックの『バットマン』や『グリーンアロー』のような地元で延々と犯罪者を退治している常人のヒーローとしており、それを典型的なファンタジー世界（『指輪物語』やTRPGに用いられる様な世界）へ展開したものである。また、その世界観などには『ソーサリー』『ダンジョンズ&ドラゴンズ』『異界戦記カオスフレア』といったゲームの影響も受けているといい、それら含めてTRPGの要素も大きい。倒した敵の武器を奪ってまた次の敵に向かっていく、「敵は武器庫だ」というような概念は「Halo」の影響を強く受けている。
